Energy Award Announcement

Southwest Public Service (SRP) recognized Littleton ESD for our innovative effort to conserve energy. Champion of Energy Efficiency Awards recognizes SRP business customers who demonstrated outstanding initiative in energy efficiency. SRP recognized the 2017 award recipients at their 4th Annual Champions of Energy Efficiency Awards Luncheon. SRP based the nominations on gross annual energy savings through participation in SRP's commercial rebate programs last year. The company chose its winners based on their outstanding efforts to implement new technologies, institute behavioral change, and support ongoing initiatives for energy efficiency within their organizations.

Here at Littleton Elementary School District, we control all of the air conditioning and heating to operate only when the spaces are occupied. We control over 90% of the lighting district wide with occupancy sensors of time clocks, all hot water heaters have time clocks, and we have exhaust fans in restrooms with motion sensors. We have changed over 90% of all exterior lighting to LED light fixtures, and we control the light fixtures with photo sensors and/or time clocks. In August of 2016, SRP and Littleton Elementary School District worked together at two of our school sites with the School of Energy Program with great success. We have also started recycling programs at several of our schools to cut back on the amount of trash that goes in our landfills.

Smart Snacks in School

Estrella Vista STEM Academy is proud to practice the Smart Snacks in School standards. We work diligently to ensure we offer healthier snack foods to all children, while limiting junk food. Our food services department plans a monthly lunch menu with the Smart Snacks regulations in mind. We will continue to promote healthy habits to ensure our kids are only offered tasty and nutritious foods during the school day. Please help us keep all children healthy by providing an alternative snack when celebrating birthdays. We are working toward limiting the serving of cupcakes during any campus celebration. We invite you to visit's website in order to learn more about the Smart Snacks in school standards. Refer to docket number FNS-2011-0019 to find the exact standard.

Tax Credit

We need your help! Donate to our tax credit program to support our after school programs. We use tax credit funding to ensure our students have all the supplies they need. Your donations support a premiere after school program with 22 clubs. Married couples may donate up to $400 and singles up to $200. Any donation made serves as a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on filed state income taxes. By making a donation, you help us maintain a competitive sports program and cutting edge clubs. Please donate in our office or go to our Business Resources page on our district website for more information. Thank you for your support.

Kids at Hope

We are excited to have over 400 students involved in Estrella Vista’s 22 after school clubs. We have also kicked off our quarter one having our students write letters to their future self. During this experience, students will be setting goals for themselves for the year and identifying their aces and how their aces can help them achieve their goals. It will be exciting to read these letters at the end of the school year to see how our students have worked toward their goals.

Tax Credit Information

Reduce your Arizona state tax by contributing to Littleton Elementary District schools! The state of Arizona allows taxpayers to take advantage of wonderful tax credits. Please consider donating to the Littleton Elementary District schools. Simply download, print, and return a form to the district office or any one of our schools today. Our goal is to double the amount collected last year. We need your help to accomplish this! Remember, a tax credit is better than a tax deduction.

SOAR Hour Program

One of the most important goals of our staff at Estrella Vista STEM Academy is to help students establish the necessary and beneficial skills that will ensure their success as life-long learners. To help us facilitate this goal, we will implement the SOAR Program. Please take a few moments to learn more about this program by reading the SOAR contract in either English or Spanish.
